Author Chris Tyson received his B.A. in Criminology from the University of Florida. He has received training courses in emergency management and risk assessment from the following agencies: U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Energetic Materials Research & Testing Center (EMRTC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Emergency Response & Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), and the Office of State & Local Government Coordination Preparedness (SLGCP). He was a past member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). For nearly a decade, Chris worked in the private sector as a security manager. In the retail industry, he worked as a Loss Prevention Manager before moving into the hospitality industry as a Certified Lodging Security Director (CLSD).
